Dental Veneers in Dunnellon, FL
Dental veneers are a custom-designed cosmetic restoration. Veneers are made from ultra-thin high-quality dental porcelain. The veneer is shaped like a shell and fits over the affected tooth. The shell is color-matched and shaped to fit snug against the natural tooth and blend seamlessly with your natural smile.
Dental veneers can be used to fully restore a damaged, discolored, or uneven smile. Dental veneers can be used to close gaps and disguise visual imperfections. Chipped, cracked, broke, or misshapen teeth can also be restored using porcelain veneers.

Porcelain Veneers What to Expect
Your journey to a total smile makeover will begin with a personalized consultation with Dr. Perkins. During your consultation, Dr. Perkins will evaluate the health and function of your teeth and gums to ensure that dental veneers are the appropriate treatment for your cosmetic concerns. Dr. Perkins will listen to your goals, answer your questions, and help you build a treatment plan that will improve the health and appearance of your smile.
Dental veneers are designed to be a permanent dental restoration. They are designed this way because they require the removal of substantial tooth enamel. Dr. Perkins will remove about 1/2 mm of tooth material from all teeth to be treated with dental veneers. This makes room for the permanent bonding of the custom-designed dental veneer.
Once the teeth are prepared, Dr. Perkins uses digital 3-D imaging to create models of the teeth. He will design precise dental veneers that will look and feel like your natural teeth. We use an in-house lab technician to ensure consistent results and patient satisfaction.
While patients wait for their final veneers to be fabricated they are commonly fit with temporary veneers. Once the final fabrications are complete patients return to our Dunnellon, FL dentist office. Dr. Perkins will apply the veneers for the patient’s final approval. Once approved, the veneers are permanently bonded to the teeth and polished to a beautiful natural shine.
No. Dental veneers can be treated just like your natural teeth. That means twice-daily brushing, flossing, and regular visits to the dentist. With proper oral hygiene and regular teeth cleanings, your dental veneers should last for over 10 years.
Yes. Tooth bonding and Lumineers are alternatives to dental veneers. Both tooth bonding and Lumineers require less tooth removal, but may need additional maintenance and are not as permanent as porcelain veneers. Unlike dental veneers, they are reversible and can be removed later in life.
Yes. Highly-trained cosmetic dentists create cosmetic restorations that look and feel like natural teeth. Dental veneers are made from a porcelain material that reflects light like natural teeth. Your dentist will not permanently bond a veneer until you feel satisfied with the look and feel of the result.
