Dr. Perkins graduated from the University of Florida with his undergraduate degree in 1982. He then entered the University of Florida College of Dentistry from which he graduated in 1986. Dr. Perkins has been a resident of Marion County for over 20 years. He and his wife Cindy have four children, Chelsea, Chad, Jake and Sarah. Chelsea and Chad are attending college and Jake and Sarah are enrolled at Grace School in Ocala.
Dr. Perkins is a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association and the Central District Dental Association. He has also been a member of the Academy of General Dentistry for almost twenty years and has been a member of the Academy of Sports Dentistry and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He has also served on the faculty of the University of Florida College of Dentistry.
Dr. Perkins has been very active in the community. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Belleview for almost 20 years, serving as president one year. He has been involved with both the Marion County and Belleview Chambers of Commerce. He has served on numerous boards including that of Hospice Foundation, YMCA, Central Florida Community College Foundation. He has been a business partner with both Belleview Elementary School and Belleview High School. He is a member of Christ the King Church.
Dr. Perkins enjoys spending time with his family and the outdoors. He is an avid reader and sports fan. He enjoys racing, golf, tennis, fishing and all Gator sports. His children lead very active lives in which Dr. Perkins stays very involved. His 15 year old son Jake is a rising star in the racing world and currently races Super Late Model cars around the Southeast. On any given weekend Dr. Perkins can be found spending time with Sarah, or at the race track making adjustments to the car and keeping track of lap times.
Meet the Doctor
Dr. Cooley graduated from Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, IL in 1985. She was born in Ames, IA and lived in Iowa and Illinois until graduating dental school. During this time, she met her husband Mike and later moved to Panama City, Florida where she had a practice for 15 years. Her two daughters were both born in Panama City, Florida. After several moves around Florida, Dr. Cooley and her family happily settled in Ocala where she continues to work at Dr. Perkins Dentistry of Dunnellon.
Dr. Cooley is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and Central District Dental Association.
Dr. Cooley is very proud of her daughters. Her oldest daughter graduated from Belleview High School & CFCC in 2010 with an Associate's Degree, and is now attending UCF in Orlando, majoring in Business Management. Her youngest daughter will be a Junior at Belleview High School and has been very active in sports as well as academics.
One of Dr. Cooley's passions is going on mission trips. She was able to go to Kenya, Africa in 1985, Zambia Africa in 2005, and most recently has had the opportunity to go on mission trips to Haiti in 2011.
